Will 3D Blu-Ray work on a regular non 3D HDTV?
If I were to pop in a 3D Blu-ray disc, purchase a pair of 3D glasses, can I enjoy the 3D experience without a 3D HDTV?

No, you need a 3D capable tv also. You’ll only get beautiful 2D 1080p though.

No. Old fashioned 3D, stereoscopic 3D, worked with the whole red/blue system. So you slap on those ugly paper glasses with the red and blue eyes and voila, good to go. But that was fake 3D. Modern 3D, Real D 3D, is far more sophisticated, and that’s what 3D BluRay discs will use. You will need both a 3D HDTV and proper active-shutter glasses (expect them to be anywhere from $100-$150 or higher per pair).
Now, Sony is apparently working on a system in which you can buy an add-on device to make your current HDTV into a 3D HDTV. So you don’t have to go out and buy a whole new TV. But its more than just buying the glasses. I know they talked about it a CES, but they didn’t release a street date or much else. So if this was vaporware or something legit, I’m not sure. But its something to keep your eyes out for (I’d look for it maybe as early as June/July, if its actually far along in development).

No. Beside that there are only a few 3D movies out. Also the price of the 3D tv is also high. Wait until they iron all the bugs out and then the price will go down. Hope this will help you out.

if I buy a top of the line blu-ray player, get all the best cables, can I watch a movie in all it’s HD glory on my old black and white TV?
NO. if your TV doesn’t support 3D, then you can’t watch 3D on it; plain and simple.
